Expected Impact

The activities planned as part of the xFORMAL project – including staff mobility, thematic workshops, professional seminars, international conferences and networking initiatives – aim to have a concrete, articulated and multi-level impact on the various stakeholders involved, promoting the hybridisation of educational practises and the dissemination of innovative approaches to training and cultural valorisation. In particular, museum professionals and science communicators will have the opportunity to engage with different educational environments and alternative teaching methods, enhancing their professional skills and contributing to the dissemination of a research culture based on participant observation, social analysis and direct interaction with the public.

Researchers in the humanities and social sciences are encouraged to integrate their methods with experimental and informal approaches to broaden the theoretical and operational horizons of their respective disciplines and promote the co-construction of transdisciplinary knowledge. Teachers and educators working in formal school settings will benefit from the interaction between institutional curricula and unconventional pedagogical practises that stimulate the development of more inclusive and flexible teaching techniques that respond to a variety of learning styles.

Engineers and researchers in the field of information and communication technologies will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the cultural and pedagogical needs of end users, thus improving the suitability and effectiveness of the digital tools developed, especially in terms of gamification and digital platforms for heritage use. Finally, policy makers, school leaders and managers of cultural institutions will be able to draw on the shared knowledge from the project to design and implement more informed and targeted territorial strategies aimed at promoting the participatory valorisation of cultural heritage and responding more effectively and inclusively to the needs of the communities they serve.
